    No, according to New York State Regulation 64 – any insurance company attempting to do so would find itself in direct violation of Section 2610 of the New York Insurance Code [N.Y. Ins. L. 2610 (McKinney 1997)]. It would then not only be subject to severe penalties from the Insurance Department, but it would expose itself to a civil suit by the policyholder for unfair and fraudulent trade practices.

    (a) Whenever a motor vehicle collision or comprehensive loss shall have been suffered by an insured, no insurer providing collision or comprehensive coverage therefor shall require that repairs be made to such vehicle in a particular place or shop or by a particular concern.

    (b) In processing any such claim (other than a claim soley involving window glass), the insurer shall not, unless expressly requested by the insured, recommend or suggest repairs to be made to such vehicle in particular place or shop or by a particular concern.

    Yes. If it’s a company that we are under contract with, your repair is automatically guaranteed by Long Beach Auto Body and your carrier, regardless of where the car is. If you move to another state, your guarantee moves with you.

    We are thoroughly knowledgeable in acceptable lease return damage. We will advise you what will and will not be acceptable to your dealer upon lease return. Not all damages have to be repaired. We can advise you on what repairs to do, and then price it accordingly.

    We have an arrangement with Enterprise Rent-a-car and also A Step Above Solution which leaves cars at our premise. Upon drop off of your car, we will call Enterprise for you and they will pick you up at our location or give you a car we have available on site. If you have rental coverage, both companies will bill your insurance company directly.

    Our average cycle time on most repairs are 3-4 days. Your repair could be different depending on your damage. We can tell you your cycle time at the time of drop off.

    Although dealers might do good work, they send their work out to body shops, usually outside Manhattan. This means that the dealer gives up control of the repair process and the cycle time. At Long Beach Auto Body, the customer rep that starts your repair process will see it through to the end personally. You have a one-on-one relationship with the shop, instead of a dealer service writer. Dealers also do not have the direct relationships with insurance companies that we has. This translates to longer repair time and limited guarantee.

    We accept insurance checks, personal checks, and cash. We can also arrange to bill your insurance company directly. Payments are not due until your vehicle is released.
